The Amazing Rideable Hoverbike

This is the world’s first truly rideable hoverbike Scorpion-3, from Russia.

It clearly looks cool, yet dangerous for the driver: make the wrong move, and you can lose your leg.

I feel like they left the spinning blades exposed and the driver’s legs unprotected for a stronger dramatic effect, since there is no real engineering reason not to put some protective mesh around them.  Nothing prevented them from implementing something like this:

Also, I was thinking:  “What does this contraption remind me of?”

Finally, it dawned on me−the police motorcycle in one of the new Star Trek movies (the first introduction to the new James Kirk).

Scorpion-3 is by far not as advanced yet.  But it is a good start.
